El Ilustre Colegio de la Abogacía de Madrid ha inaugurado hoy oficialmente su exposición documental “Abogacía de Madrid, abogacía de España. Siglos XVIII-XX” invitando a su sede a todos los Decanos de los Ilustres Colegios de la Abogacía de España.
“Gracias al Archivo Histórico del ICAM, con sus kilómetros de documentos históricos, se puede conocer la historia de todos los Colegios de Abogados del país: sus juntas de gobierno, sus propuestas conjuntas para la mejora de la Justicia, su defensa de la dignidad profesional, el desarrollo del turno de oficio y, en fin, la evolución de la profesión de la abogacía”, ha explicado el Decano del Ilustre Colegio de la Abogacía de Madrid, Eugenio Ribón.
A través de seis vitrinas, la exposición hace un recorrido desde las fundaciones y filiaciones en el siglo XVIII hasta la sostenida correspondencia entre colegios de los siglos XIX y XX con todos los colegios de España. La finalidad, como ha explicado Ribón al resto de Decanos, no es otra que “dar cuenta del papel que el Ilustre Colegio de la Abogacía de Madrid ha tenido en la conformación de la Abogacía española”.
“Con esta exposición, en definitiva, se conserva y se difunde no solo la memoria de la abogacía madrileña, sino de toda la abogacía española”, ha concluido.
Tras la reproducción de un vídeo explicativo de los documentos expuestos en todas las vitrinas, el Decano del ICAM ha entregado a cada Decano asistente un obsequio representativo de la exposición: un cuadro con una reproducción de distintos documentos históricos de los respectivos Colegios de Abogados conservados en el ICAM.
Entre los Decanos asistentes al acto, en el que también han estado presentes los que fueran Bibliotecarios del ICAM en Juntas anteriores, José Manuel Pradas y Román Gil, y la presidenta del CGAE, Victoria Ortega Benito, estaban el Decano de ICA Barcelona, Jesús Sánchez García; el Decano de ICA Alcalá de Henares, Ángel Francisco Llamas Luengo; el Decano de ICA Toledo, Ángel José Cervantes Martín; el Decano de ICA Gijón, Benigno Manuel Villarejo Alonso; el Decano de ICA Cuenca, Ismael Cardo Castillejo; el Decano de ICA Cartagena, Ángel Méndez Bernal; el Decano de ICA Santa Cruz de Tenerife, José Manuel Niederleytner; el Decano de ICA Santa Cruz de la Palma, Juan Antonio Rodríguez Rodríguez; el Decano de ICA Huelva, Juan José Domínguez; el Decano de ICA Jaén, Francisco Javier Pulido Moreno; el Decano de ICA Álava, Antón Echevarrieta Zorrilla; la Decana de ICA Ávila, María Sonsoles Jiménez; la Decano de ICA Pamplona, Blanca Ramos Aranaz; la Decana de ICA Talavera de la Reina, Marga Cerro González; el Decano de ICA Orihuela, Manuel Almarcha Marcos; el Decano de ICA Alcoy, Ricardo de la Encarnación Albero; el Decano de ICA Segovia, Julián Sanz Gómez; la Decana del ICA Ourense, Pilar López-Guerrero Vázquez; el Decano del ICA Estella, Bernardo Lacarra Albizu; el Decano del ICA Ferrol, Luis Torres Foira; el Decano del ICA Santiago, Francisco José Rabuñal Mosquera; la Decana del ICA Tafalla, Alicia Escudero; y la Decana del ICA Vigo, Lourdes Carballo.
La exposición
La exposición “Abogacía de Madrid, abogacía de España. Siglos XVIII-XX” permite apreciar por primera vez, a través de seis vitrinas, el papel del Ilustre Colegio de la Abogacía de Madrid como referente de la abogacía española de los siglos XVIII a XX, con documentos históricos y libros de más de veinte colegios de abogados de todo el país comunicando su fundación, sus listados históricos o pidiendo el amparo del ICAM.
La vitrina 1, referida a Fundaciones y filiaciones. 1706-1871, muestra el papel central de ICAM en la fundación de decenas de colegios de abogados a lo largo del siglo XVIII y principios del XIX. Hasta el cambio normativo de 1834-1838, los nuevos colegios de abogados debían crearse por filiación con el ICAM y contar con un informe favorable de que sus estatutos se adecuaban a los de Madrid. La vitrina 2, «Colegios afiliados. 1708-1829», recuerda al público que las filiaciones facilitaron la movilidad de abogados entre los diferentes colegios, reduciendo considerablemente las intensas trabas burocráticas para la colegiación y desarrollando una fuerte conexión entre los diferentes colegios del país.
La abogacía entre 1840-1969 está representada en a vitrina 3. Los cambios legislativos tras la instauración definitiva del régimen liberal y en especial los estatutos de 1838 para el gobierno de los Colegios Abogados del Reino llevaron a una profusión de colegios por todo el país, acabando con el sistema de filiaciones y fomentando la creación de colegios en cada partido judicial. Muchos de estos colegios terminaron integrándose en colegios de alcance provincial o desapareciendo. En muchos casos, los documentos conservados en el ICAM son la única prueba de su existencia por no haber conservado su archivo con su disolución.
La vitrina 4 recoge listados de colegiados y juntas de más de una decena de colegios de España. Dentro de la correspondencia institucional, las tipologías documentales más comunes son las listas de colegiados y las comunicaciones de las nuevas juntas de gobierno electas. Durante el sistema de filiaciones era preceptivo para los Colegios comunicar al ICAM sus colegiados y juntas, pero después de 1838 se mantuvo como forma de cortesía. La conservación de estas listas supone una fuente única para la historia de todos los colegios, pues como pasa en el propio archivo del ICAM, muchas veces no se conserva ningún ejemplar propio de los que se enviaban a otros colegios e instituciones judiciales o se ha perdido con el paso de los años.
La vitrina número 5, actualmente en reparación, muestra la posición del ICAM como referente, lo que le llevó a una estrecha relación de colaboración con otros colegios profesionales, en especial los de ámbito jurídico. En la muestra se observan documentos de los colegios de procuradores, el notarial o el de gestores administrativos de Madrid, con sus listas de colegiados, consultas e informes.
Por último, la vitrina 6 hace un repaso histórico. El Ilustre Colegio de la Abogacía de Madrid es el tercer colegio más antiguo de España, después de Zaragoza y Valladolid; como Colegio de Abogados de la Corte se convierte en el gran referente a la hora de la creación de otros colegios tanto en el territorio peninsular como en el hispanoamericano. Con esta vitrina se destaca a aquellos colegios que, en sus estatutos, han tomado el ICAM como referente a la hora de su fundación y se muestran también algunos ejemplos de colegios creados con posterioridad en función de las condicione legales establecidas para cada época.
